Larry’s appendicitis attack


Chapter 1 what is wrong with Larry? One day Bob the tomato and Larry the cucumber where hosting the show called Veggie Tales when Larry felt a weird pain in his stomach. “Hi kids and welcome to VeggieTales I’m Bob the tomato,” said Bob. “And I’m Larry the Cucumber” said Larry. “And we are here to answer your question” said Bob. “That’s right” said Larry. “OW. “Are you ok” asked Bob. “Yeah I am fine. Ow,” said Larry. “It looks like you’re in pain,” said Bob. “It is just a stomach-ache ow said Larry. “Are you sure?” Asked Bob. “You really don’t look so good.” he added. “I will be fine ow.” Said Larry. Just then, Junior asparagus came and when he saw Larry in pain, he was worried What is wrong with Larry he asked. I don’t know said Bob. Just then Larry’s pane went away. JR he said. What I though that you where in pane said his best friend. Funny thing the pane went away said Larry. “Would you be ok if I read the letter?” Asked Bob. “Yes.” said Larry. “Today we got a letter from Missy Ward of Vermont and she asks, “Dear Bob and Larry I have a crush on one of your co-workers and I don’t know what to do about it can you help me your friend Missy Ward” “Well the answer is really easy you see.” said Bob. Just then Larry’s pain came back and that made Bob a little scared for his best friend. “I know that my stomach hurt before but not like this.” said Larry when he was on the ground. “Where does it hurt? asked Bob a little scared and worried. “Ouch.. its here on my right.” said the very sick cucumber. “I wish that I knew what’s wrong with me.” he added. “I wish I knew too but I don’t.” said Bob. Then he got an idea “I got it….maybe Archie knows. Junior, I need you to go find Archie.” he said to the little asparagus. “Got it Bob.” So Junior left to get the very smart asparagus to see if he knew what is wrong with Larry. After a while Larry said to Bob, “The pane is getting worse I’m scared if anything happens to me there is something I want you to know Bob.” “What’s that?” he asked. “You are my best friend and I will always love you… ow” said Larry. Don’t talk like that you will make it” said the tomato. “I feel like I have to puke said the sick cucumber. Well can you get up to go to the bathroom asked Bob. Larry then tried to get up but it hurt him to move. “Ow.. I can’t get up I can’t move what is wrong with me.” asked Larry scared. And when Bob felt his hade his hart skip a few beats. “Larry you’re burning up!” said the scared tomato. And then Larry puked and what Bob saw made him really worried. Larry had puke blood on the floor. “Oh…where are you Archie?” Bob said to himself. Then Archie came with JR right behind him. “So I here that Larry is in pain.” said Archie. “Yeah.” said Bob. “He said that his side hurts on his right, he just threw up blood, and he has a high fever.” said the tomato. “Do you know what is wrong with him?” he asked “I think I do. This looks like a sign of appendicitis.” said the asparagus. “What’s appendicitis?” asked Junior. “It means that we have to take Larry to the Emergency Room so he can have his appendix taken out.” said Bob. “My what!?” asked the cucumber “Appendix?” Bob I don’t want to go the ER.” “But Larry, it’s the only way you can get better but how do we get him there in time, because if we don’t he could die!” added the tomato. “I know I will call for an ambulance to take Larry to the hospital” said Bob. And that is what he did.                            


Chapter 2 on the way to the ER/ the Operation.


A few minutes latter the ER people came to take Larry to the hospital. His stretcher looked like a bed it had a pillow and blanket and Bob ran and got Larry a bucket (just in case) and his Barbara Manatee doll to hold on to and to have while he stayed overnight in the ER because Bob knew that was going to happen it hurt Larry to be lifted ow no it hurt he said. But they got him into the ambulance. But Larry had a little thing on his mind. “Can Bob go with me?” he asked. “Can I? It’ll make him feel better about this if I’m there with him.” said the tomato. The people on the ambulance agreed . “Me and Archie will meet you guys at the emergency room” said Junior. “Ok.” said Bob as he went to the ambulance with his sick best friend. “Bob…my stomach really hurts.” said Larry with a painful sound in his voice. “I know buddy. But we’re almost there, then you’ll have your appendix taken out and feel a lot better. said Bob. And guess what? As crazy as it sounds, you really don’t need your appendix at all.” said his best friend. “Then why have one at all?” asked Larry. “Does it hurt to have an operation?” asked the cucumber. “Well you won’t know because you’ll be asleep the whole time.” said the tomato. “Sleep? Bob I really am scared.” said Larry. “I know buddy. That’s why I’m not gonna leave your side the whole time, but when you go for the operation, I will be in the waiting room for you. Ok?” said his best friend. Larry then felt another pain in his stomach “Ow!! Bob I feel like I have to throw up again.” said Larry. So Bob quickly got Larry his bucket and then Larry puked again. Again Larry puked blood. “Oh Larry….” Bob said to himself he really wished that they would get there soon. For it seemed that Larry wasn’t going to make it. A few minutes latter they where at the ER and they took Larry into operation. After Larry went into operation, Junior and Archie got there and they saw that Bob was pacing around the waiting room with a sad look on his face. “Bob what’s wrong?” asked Junior. “It’s just that I almost lost my best friend I mean I was scared for him. I hope that he’s ok said Bob. “I’m sure that he’s fine.” said Junior. “But what if he isn’t and he’s different or he dies because we were too late.” Bob began to pray for his best friend. “Dear God, please be with Larry during his operation and please help him to get better thanks God. Amen. When Bob was done with his praying Archie and JR was tearing up. “That was really sweet Bob.” Said Junior. “It sure was.” said a very touched Archie. Just then Nezzer and the rest of the veggies showed up and asked what was wrong with Larry. Lunt said that he saw that Larry was going into an ambulance that is when we all went to see how he is doing. “Well let’s see… Larry came down with a stomach virus which turned out to be appendicitis.” said Bob. “Oh no!” said his friends. “Will he be ok?” asked Petunia sounding a little worried. Those veggies were not the only ones there worried about Larry there also were two human teenage girls who looked like they could be big VeggieTales fan girls looked on worried when they hear this news about their favorite cucumber. Then Archibald said he will be fine he will just need an appendectomy. “An appen-what!?” said Lunt. “Well, boys and girls, in scientific terms, an appendectomy is when they take that little thingamajig out of your Tum-Tum that you really don't need-need.” said Mr. Nezzer. Archibald gave Nezzer a look. But everyone else started to laugh except Bob. He just sighed sadly and walked over to where the doctors took Larry and thought about the bad thought of his best friend dieing and started to tear up a little bit then Petunia walk over to Bob and hugged him felling the same way. “So all Larry needs is to have his appendix removed?” said Mr. Lunt “then he will be all right.” “Yes that’s right” said Archibald. “Then what’s up with Bob?” Lunt asked seeing that Bob was looking sad. “He is just worried that Larry might die because that could happen when you have appendicitis.” said Petunia. Meanwhile with Larry He passed out but then he saw the four Penguins from 3-2-1 penguins Zidgel asked Larry, “What is a cucumber like you doing in a place like this?” Larry then answered I’m having my appendix removed.” “Your what” asked Kevin? “Its in your body on your right side.” said Fidgel. “You are one brave cucumber.” said Midgel. “Thanks, what do you want anyway.” asked Larry. “Well you looked like you were having some trouble so we came to see if we could help. said Zidgel. “Well, it looks like you did.” “Then we have to go other people need our help too. Bye Larry and get well soon. said Zidgel. “Wait. How did you know my name?” asked the cuke. “We seen you before” said Midgel. “What where? Come back.” said Larry. “We’ll see you later.” said the penguins. “Bye. But wait, where did you see me before?” said Larry. But the penguins were gone. Back with Bob he was very worried but then the doctor came out and said that he was out of surgery and that he could see him. Bob ran down to Larry’s room, opened the door and saw that Larry was waking up and said, “Wha…where am I?” Larry said Bob. “Are you ok?” he asked. “I feel a little sore” said the cuke. Then the doctor came back with a wheelchair so Larry can see his friends with Bob right behind him. When he got there his friends all said “Hi Larry how are you feeling?” Larry just looked around a little dazed. “This is a pretty room.” said Larry he was a little groggy from anesthesia. “Hi Jimmy when did you lose all of that weight?” Larry said looking at Lunt. “Larry are you all right? asked Archie “Oh I am fine brainy…” said Larry. “ Ah...it’s Archie” said Archibald. “Larry I bet you can’t wait to go back and host VeggieTales with me right?” asked Bob. “I host VeggieTales?….Radical.” said the cuke. Then Petunia came up to Larry and kissed him on the cheek. “Hey Tom a pretty girl kissed me on the cheek.” said Larry. “It’s Bob” said Bob. “Larry it is me Petunia your girlfriend” she said. “I have a girlfriend?” asked Larry. “Whoa Pa….. you’ve gotten a lot taller.” said Larry looking at Nezzer. “Hey Archie, do you know what’s up with Larry.” asked Nezzer. “Well… no.” said Archie. “Larry is always clueless but never this clueless.” Then Larry saw that he was in the wheelchair and said “What am I doing in a chair? I think that I should stand.” so he tried to stand but it hurt him to and he felt dizzy also. “Ok I think it is time for Larry to go back to his room. Plus, I think that Larry is still under anesthesia so that why he is acting like this.” said Bob “Well that explains it.” said Mr. Lunt. “I’m sorry he should be fine in hour or two and the next time you see him. Larry will be back to normal.” said Bob. After Bob got Larry back to his room Bob got to see what Larry was wearing. Larry was wearing an ER outfit in fact that is all he wore during his stay. “Do I get to go home now?” asked the cuke after he got in bed a few hours latter when the anesthesia wore off. “No you have to stay overnight for a few days but our friends who are here now that you saw will come and visit you one groups each days you are here during your stay.” said Bob. “Then,” he added. “I will tell your mom and dad about it Ok? “Ok thanks Bob.” said his best friend. Then the doctor came in and said “Here is your appendix.” and he handed the jar to Larry. “Cool. What do you think Bob” ask the cucumber. “It’s making me feel sick.” said the tomato. Then Larry said that he saw penguins that said that they had seen him before. “Larry I think you were having an hallucinations.” said Bob. “What?” said Larry. Bob then said that hallucinations are when is a perception in the absence of a stimulus that the person may or may not believe is real. “Oh. so penguins did not really talk to me.” said Larry. “No it was probably the anesthesia that caused this.” said Bob. Then Archie and Junior came in too see how Larry is doing after the anesthesia wore off. “So I see that you’ve made it.” said the tall happy asparagus. “Yeah….” said Larry. “You’re going to be ok now right?” asked JR “Yeah I’ll be fine” said the sore cuke. “Will I get appendicitis from you.” Junior also asked. “No you can’t.” said Bob. “You can’t catch appendicitis.” he added. And Larry showed them and Bob his scar. “That is a nice scar.” said his friends. Then they left to let Larry sleep for the night. But before Bob could leave the doctor stop him and said that he was lucky that Larry did not die because he had not just appendicitis it was acute appendicitis because this is what his appendix looked like the DR walked into Larry’s room trying not to wake him up and got Larry’s appendix jar and said to Bob “You don’t have a weak stomach do you?” And Bob said yes. “Well try not to get sick because I really wanted to show you what your friend’s appendix looked like” said the doctor. Then he showed Bob what Larry’s appendix looked liked it was bruised a little bit. “Was your friend laying down on anything before you called us?” asked the doctor. “Well he was laying down on the floor we didn’t have a pillow for him yet.” said Bob. “Well that is all I wanted to show you I am going to put this back now.” said the doctor. “Wait, let me do that I want to see Larry one more time before I go home for the night.” said Bob. Then when Bob walked in, Larry woke up and said “Bob what is going on? What are you doing with my appendix?” “The doctor just wanted to show me something with it but don’t you worry everything’s fine.” said Bob. “Can you stay Bob? Please?” asked his best friend. “No I can’t but I will see you in the morning ok?” said Bob. “Ok” said Larry. “Good night Bob I love you, and I don‘t mean like a cupcake.” Larry added. “Good night Larry I love you too.” Bob said as he walked out the door seeing Larry had fallen asleep hugging his Barbara Manatee doll with a smile on his face. Bob tired up a little. Then Bob left with Junior and Archie since Bob did not bring his own car. When Bob got home he could not sleep he was too worried about Larry. But Bob knew that Larry was going to be ok and that God was watching over him after that last thought Bob closed his eyes and went to sleep. But before he could really sleep he prayed that Larry would be fine and then Bob asked God if He could watch over Larry so he won’t fell alone and sacred. After that Bob went into bed and fall asleep with no worries left in his though just happiness and luckiness because he knew that God would watch over his best buddy.


Chapter 3 days of visits


The next day Larry got a great visit from his mom, dad, and brothers they asked Larry if he could hop Larry did not want to worry his mom and dad so he got up and started to hop but it still hurt him because he was still a little sore but he did not let his mom and dad know that then after they left Bob came in and saw Larry hoping with a pane look on his face. “What are you doing?” asked the tomato. “I was just trying to hop but it still hurts.” said the cucumber as he got into his bed. “I got a treat for you.” said his best friend. “Oooh… What is it?” asked the sore cuke. “It’s your favorite cookies, chocolate chip. But you have to promise me you will eat something here Ok?” said Bob. “Ok” said the cuke. “Also here is a get-well soon card. Everyone wrote their names in it too.” said Bob as he ‘handed’ Larry the card Larry opened it and what it said really brought tiers to his eyes the card said “Get well soon Larry we are all really sorry for what had happen to you we are all praying for you to get well soon can’t wait to see you when we come to visit you love your best veggie friends: Nezzer, Lunt, Pa, Petunia, Jimmy and Jerry, Scoter, Archie, Jr Dad and Mom asparagus, the French peas, Khalil, Madame Blueberry, and last but not least your very best friend Bob”. After reading the card Bob went out to tell the cuke who is going to see him in the morning. “Here is who is coming to see you in the morning Pa, Lunt, Nezzer, Petunia, and the French peas.” Bob told the cucumber so he will know who is going to see him in the morning. “Bob I really miss you.” said Larry sadly. “I miss you too Larry.” said the tomato “But you’ll be home soon.” he added. Then Bob left to let Larry sleep.


The next morning Larry friends came to see him Larry showed them his scar and he could hop a little bit, as he did not fell as sore. Pa and Lunt got Larry a bag of Cheese Curls Nezzer got him a chocolate bunny Petunia kissed him on the cheek and the French peas got him a free table at their restaurant. They left and Bob called Larry on his cell phone and said that Scoter Madame Blueberry, Khalil, Jimmy, and Jerry were going to see him in the morning. So Larry went to sleep.


The next day Larry got gifts from Madame, she said that she would have her gardener water his flowers for him from Scoter a free cruise and from Jimmy and Jerry free ice cream. Then he got a gift form Khalil a plush toy then they left Bob called to say that Dad asparagus and mom asparagus was going to see him on his last day. Larry went to sleep.


The next day was Larry’s last day to be in the ER when Larry showed them his scar Dad fainted then after a while, they left and Larry went to sleep in the ER for the last time.


Chapter 4 the party


The next day was a happy day Larry was coming home and Bob had something big plan for the cuke when he walk into the door his friends said “SURPRISE!!!” and “Welcome home Larry!” “You guys are such great friends.” said the cuke. Larry looked like was he always looked like when he is not acting. Then Bob show him a chocolate cake that said, “Get well soon Larry” on it. After having the cake Larry said thanks to Bob for taking good care of him Bob said “I would do anything for you my best friend.” as they shared a hug Larry also thanked his friends for their gifts they said you are welcome. Bob then asked Larry if he could hop with out felling any pane Larry said yes. Larry then asks Bob if he wanted to know how he came down with it in the first place. Bob said yes. Larry told him that after the Gideon show he was in his dressing room taking off his pirate costume when he felt a sharp pane in his stomach then after a while it when away. Bob just said “I’m just glad that you are feeling better.” “It’s great to feel better and to be home.” said Larry. “Larry when you were in the emergency room, I couldn’t sleep the whole 3 days that you were there those nights. I was very worried for you. You almost died” said Bob. “Huh? I did?” ask the cucumber. “Yes, you did but I am so glad you are better and back home.” said the tomato. “Thanks Bob, it’s great to be better and back too.” said Larry. “Larry you are my best friend and I love you.” said Bob. “You are my best friend too and I love you too.” said Larry. Then Larry said that he was going to put his stuff away and he was going to be right back.


One week latter Larry went back to the ER with Bob and the doctor asked if Larry has been feeling any pain at all. And Bob said “No.” Then the he asked if Larry has been felling weak or very sick. Bob said “A little.” Bob then told the doctor how sometimes Larry would hop for a bit then is tired afterwards. Then the doctor asked Bob if he hangs out with Larry enough to help him take pills that will help him not to get sicker also help him not to fell as sick and weak. Bob agreed. So the doctor got Larry his pills. He also told Larry if he wanted to keep his scar a secret from his fans when he is hosting Veggie Tales he could use a cream that is green just like his skin over his scar then wash it off afterwards. Larry said that he wanted to do that because he did not wanting people making a big deal out of his scar.


Then they left to get something to eat then get back to work answering fan mail and coming with ideas for new shows then writing the script or scripts for the new show or shows that they came up with then hang out with their friends. But every time Bob looks over at Larry and see his scar on his right side Bob can’t help but think of the bad time of Larry having appendicitis and the fact that he Bob almost lost is best friend in the world. And sometimes the yells of pain of a cucumber that was really sick rings in that ears of that tomato {and I did not know that tomatoes had ears}. Bob will also never forget the regurgitation of blood that came out of his best friends mouth. When Bob dose think about it he just shakes it off and tries to think about something else because Bob did not want to lose his mind and go crazy with that thought. Bob dreams for a while flashbacks to everything that happen when his best friend was sick and had to go to the ER. After Bob would have those dreams he would call Larry. If Bob was not staying at his house or go and find him and ask him if he was ok. Larry would answer “Yes.” Then Bob would go back to sleep but not before praying to God to watch over Larry a little bit more.


After all Bob is really glad that Larry made it and is doing great recovering form his sickness and is taking his pills at the right amount and at the right time and is also back to being his old silly, loving, kind, caring, helpful, clueless self that Bob and the rest of the veggies also Larry’s own family love. Larry is just really glad that he has great friends and family that really love and care about him.


Now when Bob prays he thanks God for helping Larry to get better and for watching over him. Larry thanks God for giving him great friends and family that help him and care about him when he is or is not well. Then both Bob and Larry thank God for letting Larry live and not die form appendicitis.


And that is how Larry came down with appendicitis and why there is no episode in Veggie Tales in witch he dose come down with it yet because he did in this story. This also showed that Larry’s friends dose love him very much. This takes place after “Closed Accounts” and “A Very Veggie Love Story.” This also showed how much Bob loves Larry. In addition, this takes place after Gideon and before Moe.
